Work With Amphibian

Amphibian helps journalists, creators, and institutions build shows, videos, newsletters, and independent media projects, from idea to launch and beyond.

Work With Amphibian
James Edwards, host and co-writer of Heat List is on the right side, in conversation with longtime Chicago Tribune investigative reporter Jeremy Gorner. This is the Amphibian orbit: award-winning storytellers, reporters, producers, and collaborators building ambitious work from the ground up.

Amphibian works with journalists, writers, creators, researchers, artists, and independent publishers who have serious ideas and want help making them bigger.

Sometimes that means building a show. Sometimes a written project, a video series, a newsletter, a podcast, a YouTube channel, or a full editorial platform. Sometimes it means helping a journalist leave Substack for a more flexible, independent setup through Ghost. Sometimes it means taking a half-formed idea, finding the real story inside it, and building the infrastructure around it so it can reach people.

We're especially interested in working with journalists who have stories to report, shows to build, audiences to grow, or publications they want to own more fully. If you have a beat, an obsession, a book idea, an archive, a reporting project, a podcast concept, a video format, or a newsletter that has outgrown its current home, get in touch.

Amphibian can help with concept development, editorial strategy, reporting structure, show design, scripting, interview prep, guest booking, audio and video production, editing, publishing, Ghost setup, newsletter migration, social clips, YouTube strategy, sponsorship planning, audience development, and project fundraising. We can also help figure out where a project belongs — podcast, video series, written feature, newsletter, live event, grant-funded investigation, sponsored series, or something that doesn't have a clean industry name yet.

Our background is investigative reporting. That means clear questions, strong structure, careful research, and sharp editing. But we're not only interested in traditional journalism. We want to work with people making something smart, strange, rigorous, or hard to ignore.
